“Why did this just change my life?” Mikayla Nogueira wrote on TikTok in a review of her new favorite clean concealer, Saie’s viral Hydrabeam formula. “I’ve never loved a concealer more than this,” she continued. Needless to say, a rave from Nogueira—Gen Z’s reigning queen of makeup—is no small feat. But Hydrabeam has been invoking the same enthusiasm across the platform—and now, I personally know what all the fuss is about.
Let’s start with the obvious: It’s no surprise Hydrabeam has been a runway success in just a few short weeks. Over the past two years, Saie has become a major player in the clean beauty category, supplying a slew of cult-favorite and glow-inducing products—from its Slip Tint SPF moisturizer to its Glowy Super Gel illuminator—that blur the line between makeup and skin care. Its latest, a clean concealer designed in the same spirit, was its community’s most requested product ever.
As emphasized by Nogueira, Hydrabeam is—first and foremost—exceptionally hydrating, with ingredients like squalene, glycerin, and tomato extract making for a smoother, plumper complexion, while also keeping the under-eye area luminous for longer. “If you have dry under eyes…oh my god, oh my god!” Nogueira burst out in delight during her review. Fellow TikTok beauty influencer Kim Spader, known for her 40+ beauty expertise, also praised it, touting it as the perfect concealer for mature skin. “It is brightening, hydrating, it’s everything I want for my under eyes,” she says.
Another one of Hydrabeam’s key components is its creamy, featherweight finish supplied by its unique whipped gel texture, which melts right in as you apply it, even over dry patches or fine lines. I like to go in with the soft doe applicator tip, and then tap and blend it in further with my fingertips. When I do this according to the TikTok-popularized so-called face-lifting concealer hack, targeting the inner and outer corners of my eyes and the corners of the lips, my face is instantly brought to life, almost like I’ve run a beauty filter across it. Not one of the extreme ones, but the kind that lets the little things, like freckles, show through while giving you a more even-toned and soft-focus complexion. Another thing I love about it is that you don’t have to set it, and the powder-free finish allows for maximum juicy glow—exactly what I’m looking for in these summer months to come.
